Inspiring change

Inspiring Change is a project which is run by Save The Children in partnership with Playbusters. The aim of the project is to work with children, young people and parents to find out about their experiences of poverty. The groups come up with ideas of how their lives could improve and we work with them to put those ideas into action. The Inspiring Change projects enable children, young people and parents to have their voices heard and to let local councils and decision makers know about the things that need to change in their area.

The three stages of the project are; Dream, Plan and Do.

Dream - The group will get to know one another through regular meetings, activities and discussions about issues affecting the community. The group will figure out what they would like to change and what they can change with the time and budget available.

Inspiring Change Plan

Plan - On a fun packed residential weekend the group will plan what needs to be done for the project they have chosen. The residential will take place at Auchengillan outdoor centre.

Do - With the support from staff at both Save The Children and Playbusters, the group will actually carry out the project. Save The Children will give the group a budget of up to £1000 and any other support needed.

The Playbusters Inspiring Change group has recently took part in the residential weekend at Auchengillan and are now at the 'Do' stage of the project. Check the Playbusters website for updates on the project soon and lots more photos from the residential.
